List of Shops on St. John, U. S. Virgin Islands Cruz
Bay is
full of treasures for shoppers. Here you can browse in a relaxed
atmosphere in small stores offering individualized products and services.
You will find a startling array of items and styles, certain to find
"something for everyone" on your list. Dedicated shoppers can
cover the town in a day, but most prefer to browse a bit each day of their
stay. Coral
Bay
is "the country" to Cruz Bay’s "town". Make sure to
visit this unusual East End community. You will find interesting shopping,
restaurants, bars, a deli, watersports, and probably a few surprises. The
goats are not wild; they belong to people. They are not pets. Mongoose
Junction
featuring Fine Shopping in a Caribbean Setting, located near the National
Park Visitors Center. Mongoose Junction offers dozens of unique shops and
galleries, restaurants and cafes. Since 1978, Mongoose Junction has been
the place to be. Many of the original stores continue to operate,
featuring artisans at work. You can watch high quality items – painted
clothing, pottery, fabric creations, canvas bags, batiks – being created
before your very eyes. As you wind your way through the shaded terraces
and lush tropical plants, you will also discover high quality items from
around the world, clothing and accessories, gifts, jewelry, a full service
salon, a watersports center, as well as real estate, vacation rental, and
other professional services. Enjoy Caribbean architecture of finely
crafted stone walls and exotic woodworking. Take time to explore. Treat
yourself to a tropical afternoon drink, or an evening of live music and
good food. Wharfside
Village
invites you to come stroll through the colorful Caribbean beach front
Shopping Mall featuring quality custom jewelry, tropical clothing, gift
shops, fine art, watersports, locally made products and a working spice
factory! Purchase that special real estate or reserve a villa for your
next vacation...then relax at one of the restaurants or beach bars. Downtown
Shops
The short walk from the ferry dock to Mongoose Junction (on the north end
of Cruz Bay, on your way to the National Park beaches) or to Wharfside
Village (to the south of the ferry) takes you through downtown Cruz Bay.
Enjoy the friendly relaxed atmosphere and delight in the wide range of
items you will find. Lumberyard
Complex
This section of Cruz Bay was once our only Lumberyard. Now the center
hosts a variety of shops and service establishments. The
Marketplace
new shopping complex on South Shore Road, just outside Cruz Bay. Palm
Plaza
Just outside Cruz Bay on the South Shore Road, right before the big hotel
on Great Cruz Bay. This new center is conveniently located to be there
just as you remember what you forgot to bring home. Lots of parking. Plan to take the
drive to Coral Bay, 8 miles from Cruz Bay. All roads out of town
eventually lead to Coral Bay. If you drive on Centerline Road, along the
way, you will see the Bordeaux Mountain Overlook. Stop, get out, and have
a look at a breathtaking view of Coral Bay and beyond. When you get to
"The Triangle", you must choose. The left fork takes you to the
East End. The right fork takes you to Salt Pond and beyond to Lameshur.
Good idea to go one way, then another day, go the other way. Both are
beautiful and breathtaking with good roads. Bring your camera. You can see
up the entire Sir Francis Drake Channel to Virgin Gorda, the fat one in
the middle, 40 miles away. Bordeaux
Mountain Overlook
Enjoy a cool drink at the outdoor refreshment stand. After a while of
relaxing in the cool breeze, enjoy the charming island boutiques.
Eventually, you will make it to Coral Bay. No rush. Triangle
to East End
This drive takes you past Hurricane Hole, Haulover Bay, and all the way to
Round Bay. Tortola looks so close that you almost can touch it. See for
yourself why so many artists live out this way. Enjoy unusual island
shopping. Triangle
to Salt Pond
Go right at the triangle and get a look at Coral Harbor and its
impressive fleet of traditional and modern sailing vessels. Enjoy the
breezes and views. Shop, eat, and swim along the way. St. John Shopping - world class merchandise, tropical island atmosphere! |
